Commissioners Cynthia Long, Precinct 2, and Valerie Covey, Precinct 3, Tuesday, September 30, announced the formation of a community-based SH 29 Safety/Mobility Task Force. The Task Force is part of the SH 29 highway study plan announced on September 3 to proactively address safety and mobility issues on SH 29.
The highway study identified that some immediate and long term safety improvements are needed.  The Safety/Mobility Task Force is being formed to analyze SH 29, gather input, and make recommendations to improve safety between Georgetown and Liberty Hill that could be included in the County’s overall transportation plan, which is scheduled for an update in 2009.
